MENSA / Film and Media Teacher

After decades of media and educational work, Robert LaRue is currently the film and media representative on the Culture and Arts Council of Angeles City, Pampanga. In that role, he proposes and produces film and media-related projects for the city, including current proposals for a film festival and a combined literature and video project for authors of Kapampangan language children’s books. In the past eight years, while living in the Philippines, he has presented dozens of lectures, film showings and university classes on film production, as well as judging numerous film and photography contests. He is the author of many dozens of published lesson plans for high school teachers in the fields of history, religion, technology, literature, journalism, and film.

Recent print work includes editing the massive presentation biography of Nanay Pineda, past Governor of Pampanga, Nanay, and Pupul, a collection of Kapampangan family recipes compiled by the Pampanga Medical Society. He also wrote the introduction for the book.

In addition to media work, Robert LaRue is the co-founder of the Angeles City Magicians Hub and is an honorary member of the Magicians Foundation, Inc. of Manila. He has performed and lectured around the world, while also authoring and/or editing dozens of tricks and books specifically for magicians. For three years he performed and composed as a member of the Sunlag Ensemble, a group playing traditional and avant-garde music on indigenous bamboo instruments.
