Gerry Leonardo Studio / Sculptor

Gerry Leonardo has spent 35 years studying and teaching at the Philippine High School for the Arts on Mt. Makiling. He graduated from PHSA with a Leadership and Distinction in the Visual Arts Award, earning him a MARIA (Makiling Academie for Research in the Arts) Scholarship to study sculpture at the University of the Philippines in Diliman under the late National Artist Napoleon Abueva. He received the Japan Monbusho Scholarship in 1990 and studied Japan Culture & Language Studies at Osaka University of Foreign Studies from 1990 to 1992. Most Outstanding Graduate of Kyoto Seika University MFA Sculpture Program 1994. The Art Association of the Philippines Grand Prize for Sculpture, Bonifacio Global City Public Art Grand Prize Awardee (1998), MADE National Finalist (2018), and CCP 13 Artists Award have all been given to Gerry (2000). He is currently the Interim Head of the NCCA-DepEd Special Program for the Arts Task Force and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Humanities at the University of the Philippines Los Banos Campus.
